Our U10 boys made the short journey to Fossa on Saturday for the inaugural Seamus Weldon Tournament, with an impressive 40 teams competing.
The boys produced some excellent football throughout the day, with every single player working tirelessly for the team. Their hard work and determination paid off as they topped their group and qualified for the knockout stages of the Elite Competition.
In the last 16, we were paired with Ballymac, and once again the boys showed great skill, determination and team spirit to secure a fantastic win.
That took us into the quarter-finals, where we faced a strong Kerins O’Rahilly’s side. The boys went toe-to-toe with O’Rahilly’s in what was a brilliant, hard-fought game, but unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of the result.
Despite the disappointment, the boys can be incredibly proud of themselves and the way they represented their club throughout the tournament. Reaching the last eight of an Elite Competition featuring 40 teams is a fantastic achievement.
There is plenty of talent, hard work and determination in this group, and the future certainly looks bright for these boys! 💙💛
