Spa get their Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Football Championship campaign underway this Saturday evening when they take on current All-Ireland champions Dingle in Round 1 at Austin Stacks Park.
Throw-in is at 7.15pm, with Spa facing a Dingle side they have already met twice this year. Spa came out on top when the sides met in the league earlier in the year, while Dingle edged a recent Senior Club Championship meeting in Spa by a point following an excellent and entertaining contest. Spa will be hoping to go one better this time around.
The Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Football Championship is Kerry’s premier club and divisional Football competition, featuring the county’s 10 senior clubs alongside six divisional teams who have made it to Round 1. This year’s Championship is a straight knockout competition, with no back-door system, meaning there is plenty at stake from the opening round.
The Spa v Dingle match will follow East Kerry v Mid Kerry, which is also taking place at Austin Stacks Park at 5pm.
The full Round 1 draw is:
Milltown/Castlemaine v Austin Stacks Kenmare Shamrocks v West Kerry Rathmore v St Kieran’s Dingle v Spa Na Gaeil v North Kerry Templenoe v An Ghaeltacht Dr Crokes v South Kerry East Kerry v Mid Kerry
