RTE Sport - Ladies Lidl National League will not be completed
In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association have taken the decision to cancel the Lidl National Leagues, meaning that the competition will not be completed in 2020. Almost four rounds of games were played across the four divisions by the weekend of 7/8 March. However, a government directive in the wake of the then worsening coronavirus crisis, saw the suspension of all LGFA activities until 29 March.Taking "the health and wellbeing of our members" into account, the association has decided not to continue with the 2020 league campaign ahead of the likely directive from the HSE and government that the suspension will continue beyond 29 March. The Lidl Post Primary Schools Competitions have also been cancelled for this year, along with the LGFA Interprovincial competition, the All-Ireland U14 championship, Féile na nÓg and Féile Skills. The 2020 TG4 All-Ireland championships will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, in line with Government regulations, while there is a possibility of provincial action in the U16 and Minor Championships, when LGFA activities resume. A number of Development programmes are also postponed until LGFA activity resumes.
