Club Notes 9th May 2016

Coiste na nÓg

U-12 Boys
Played away to Ballyheigue this weekend. Unfortunately, after a strong showing in the first half, a stronger Ballyheigue side,  pulled away from us in the second half. Good performances from our goalkeeper Steven Wickham, Christopher Healy, Rian O'Neill, Timmy Moynihan, Cathal Kelly & David O'Sullivan kept us in the game. This is a very young team with great potential.

Ladies Football

U-12 Girls
Spa 3-3 Rathmore 4-1
This was a cracker of a game with only a point to separate both teams in the end. Great play by Emma Morrissey, Elaine Kelly, Ailsing Cahill, Laura O'Carroll, Aoife O'Donoghue and Leah O'Donoghue.
U-14 Girls
The girls were very busy this week with 2 games. First up we played Dr. Crokes in Spa. A close game until the last few minutes when our neighbours scored some excellent scores. Great play by Elena O Donoghue, Erin Holland,
Ciara Moynihan, Grace Courtney, Aoibhe O'Doherty, Sarah O'Sullivan and Clodagh O'Connor.
Second game was also at home to Listowel. Another great game and we lead by a healthy margin at half time. Our visitors came back at us but we held off their advances to win on the night. Excellent play by Caoimhe Claffey, Jenny Cronin, Sarah Fleming, Grainne Spillane, Orlaith Spillane, Marie Courtney and the energiser bunny Liadh Beazley.

Senior Ladies Championship

Spa/Rathmore 1-12 Castleisland 2-21
Met Castleisland in the final last year and proved a great day for us but the spoils went to Castleisland this weekend. Missing a few key players through injury. Fought hard with excellent play by Sarah Murphy, Karol Fleming, Claire Moynihan and Sinead Cronin.
