Club Notes (July 6th 2020)

JUVENILE TRAINING IS BACK

Delighted to announce that our Juvenile Training is back. The Academy ABC/U6, U8 & U10 groups start at 10am every Saturday morning and new members very welcome to come along and join in any week. The full list of training times is as follows:

  • ABC/U6 boys and girls: Saturdays 10:00am

  • U8 boys: Saturdays 10:00am

  • U8 -U10 girls: Saturdays 10:00am

  • U10 boys: Sundays 11:00am & Thursdays 6:30pm

  • U12 boys: Sundays 6:00pm & Thursdays 7:30pm

  • U12 girls: Wednesdays 5.30pm

  • U14 boys: Mondays 7:30 & Fridays 7:30pm

  • U14 girls: Wednesdays 7pm

Every Saturday the Academy welcomes BOYS & GIRLS from ages 3 to 10 in the ABC, U6, U8 and U10 groups. New members are always welcome! If you would like any additional information or for any queries, please contact our Coiste na nOg Secretary Andrew on 087 138 5612.

  

CO CHAMPIONSHIP

The Co Championships draws were made last week on Radio Kerry’s Terrace Talk programme. With limits in place his year due to the virus, there are some changes to the usual format.

The biggest change is that it will be straight knock-out format. No backdoor option for first round losing teams. Dates, venues etc to be confirmed in the next few weeks. There is no home / away preference for first and second name out, it will be all neutral venues as capacity guidelines etc will need to be adhered to. Extra time and Penalties if needed - all games will be Result on the Day.

With games commencing August 22nd/23rd the draw is:

Mid Kerry v Kilcummin

Feale Rangers v East Kerry

Dingle v Templenoe

St Kierans v South Kerry

Kenmare Shamrocks v Shannon Rangers

Dr Crokes v Austin Stacks

Killarney Legion v Kerins O'Rahillys

St Brendans Board v West Kerry 

 

CLUB REGISTRATION

Final call for club registration as Spa re-opens. Registration is open on our website spagaa.com and any queries pls contact Ger, Sean, Donagh or Shona. Anyone who has not registered yet is asked to do so as soon as possible. With limited access to GAA grounds going forward, only registered members/players will be allowed to access the walking track, playing pitches etc.

 

SHARE THE POT

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Spa GAA Share The Pot draw. The third draw will take place this Friday July 10th at 8pm. If you haven’t already signed up, you can still get your name in before Friday's draw. €10 per ticket to be included in next 4 draws (€2.50 into the pot for each draw) and at each draw the Club & winning ticket share the pot 50/50. **The usual Spa Lotto remains suspended for the foreseeable future and the expiry dates of annual tickets and online tickets will be extended to compensate for weeks when Lotto is not held.

 

COMPULSORY E-LEARNING MODULE FOR RETURN TO GAA

A reminder about the new eLearning module has been created to inform those involved with the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Clubs on the safe resumption of Gaelic Games activities. The module must be completed by anyone entering club facilities, especially players, team personnel, parents/guardians of underage players, Covid Supervisors and Club Officers. The module takes 20 minutes to complete and can be taken at any time on any laptop or mobile device. Participants will have to declare on their Health Questionnaires that they have completed the module. The module can be accessed at: https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd The programme aims to protect the health and welfare of all those involved in Gaelic Games and minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19 in local communities.

 

CO MINOR LEAGUE FIXTURES

The Co Minor League fixtures were sent to clubs last week. Spa are in Group I with Milltown/Castlemaine, Ardfert and Glenflesk. Round 1 is set to commence on Friday July 17th (Spa v Milltown/Castlemaine away) with Round 2 on Saturday August 15th (Spa v Ardfert at home) and Round 3 on Saturday September 5th (Spa v Glenflesk at home).

*Minor Co. League is U18 (but Minor Co. Championship will be U17)
