INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL SPA 4-18 BEAUFORT 1-19
Congratulations to our senior team & management on their victory over Beaufort to claim the long-awaited 2020 Intermediate Club Championship title. There was huge support for Spa in the Stadium on Sunday afternoon and thank you to everyone who got behind the team on the day and who sent in messages of support and tuned in online and on Radio Kerry.
Full match report available here
Played in Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the difference at the end of the day was a hatrick from man-of-the-match Cian Tobin, that gave the Spa side a comfortable cushion as the game progressed. Spa had no less than twelve different scorers on the day, and great teamwork across all sectors earned them a first Intermediate title since 2009, just the third time in the club’s history they have won the Co. Intermediate Championship after suffering defeat in their last three final appearances (2012, 2014 and 2015). Massive congratulations to the team, extended panel and management side of Ivor Flynn, Neily Kerins, Kieran Herlihy, Brian Gleeson and Arthur Fitzgerald.
Spa now step up to compete in the 2021 Senior Club Championship and our first game out will be against neighbours Dr Crokes next Sunday September 19th at 2.30pm in Fitzgerald Stadium. It also means that Spa will compete on their own in the 2021 Co. Championship and will not be part of the East Kerry divisional side this year.

U12 GIRLS FINAL SPA V JOHN MITCHELS
8th September 2021: Our U-12 Girls County League adventure came to an end last week in Tralee with an 8-point loss in the final to worthy winners John Mitchels. We were slow to start off & to get to the pace of things and John Mitchell's used this to their advantage leading at the break by 5 points. Credit to our girls, they upped the ante in the 2nd half, a goal early on reduced the deficit & this seemed to invigorate our girls, who pushed forward at every opportunity to try to tighten the margins further. We missed a couple of scorable opportunities thereafter & John Mitchell's who had some very strong players took theirs well. In the end, they just had too much for us on the night & finished up as winners on a score-line of 3-05 to 1-03.
On behalf of the Management Team, I'd like to thank all the girls for their commitment throughout this competition & throughout the year. I'd like to thank all the parents who dropped the girls to training every week and were there to support us at all the matches. We will take a break from training for 1 week & will train again Saturday 18th September at 10am. Johnny, Ger, Margaret & Mike
