Spa played Milltown/Castlemaine last night in the opening round of the Minor Co League. A highly entertaining game and while the visitors led 3-7 to 1-9 at the break, the final score was a very impressive Spa 4-16 to Milltown/Castlemaine 6-16. Well done to all players and the management of Conor Kerins and Brian Devane.

Round 2 is scheduled for Saturday August 15th Spa v Glenflesk (in Glenflesk) with Spa at home to Ardfert in Round 3 on Saturday September 5th.

As some clubs withdrew from the competition earlier in the week, there have been changes to group fixtures, with Group I still including Spa, Ardfert and Glenflesk but Milltown/Castlemaine have now been moved to Group F. Last night’s game is listed as a ‘challenge’ match. To keep the same number of games for everyone, instead of a BYE for each team, some games will be categorised as ‘challenge’ games, so no points will be awarded in these games.
