O'Sullivan Cup Junior Championship semi-final

Spa 3-12 Listry 0-15

Spa were home to Listry on Tuesday evening in the East Kerry O'Sullivan Cup semi-final.

Niall McCarthy (2), Shane Fenton, and David Spillane exchanged points with Cain Bradley, Ronan Buckley, Kieran Murphy and Anthony Sweeney to level the game at 0-4 each at the end of the first quarter. Scores from Shane Lynch, Niall McCarthy and David Spillane edged Spa in front before Ronan Buckley kicked two more over the bar to put just a point between the sides.

Shortly after, Niall McCarthy dropped a long high ball in towards goal and David Spillane finished it to the net. He almost had a second goal moments later but keeper Colm Counihan got a touch and tipped it over the bar. At the half time break Spa were leading 1-8 to 0-6.

David Spillane pointed to increase the Spa lead and Listry almost replied with a goal but James Devane pulled off a great point-blank save. Listry followed with points from Anthony Sweeney, Cain Bradley and Aidan O'Donoghue to make it 1-9 to 0-9. Spa however had three quick points from Paul Cahill and Niall McCarthy (2) before Mike McCarthy sent a long ball in and David Spillane finished the second Spa goal.

Paul O'Donoghue pointed the next for Listry before Spa were again attacking on goal, with Mikey Moynihan's shot rebounding off the post and the ball was deflected into the net to make it 3-12 to 0-10. Listry kept the pressure on and kicked five more points from Cain Bradley, Paul O'Donoghue, Aidan O'Donoghue, Derry Ahern and Anthony Sweeney and the game finished Spa 3-12 Listry 0-15.
