Club Notes 9th March 2015

Registration

Reminder Peter and Donagh will be in the Clubhouse this Friday night to collect registration for all members. Deadline is March 31st.

Coiste na nÓg

Registration continues next Friday March 13th 6.45-8.15 pm. Training Schedule U-6/U-8 Saturday morning at 11.30am U-10 Boys Friday 7-8. U-12 Boys Friday 6-7. U-14 boys Friday 8-9. U-16 Boys Sunday 10-11am and Tuesdays 6pm.

Ladies Football Training

U-6/U-8 and U-10 girls continue to train indoors Wednesday evening 5-6. U-12 Girls/U-14 girls Training is now ongoing for the girls Saturday evening 5-6 indoors. U-16 Girls and Senior Ladies Friday evenings at 6.15pm.

Senior Ladies

Spa 1-9 Currow 3-2 ladies started their league campaign with a win away to Currow. Down by one pt at half time but the team came out in the second half to snatch a great victory against a very tough Currow side.

Minor League Division 1 Round 2

Austin Stacks 1-12 Spa 2-10 Well done to our minors who gave a very impressive display with a win in Connolly park. New player to the minor panel Deon Marcus got the first goal at the start of the second half while David Spillane found the net the last minute of the game. A great team effort by the young lads and never an easy task to win a game on Austin Stacks sod.

Well done to our dancers who will compete in the County Final which will take place in INEC Killarney on March 22nd after a very impressive semi final performance in Foilmore last Saturday. Best of luck to Sean Nós dancer Grainne Spillane Coach Triona Mangan. Figure dancing : Erin Holland, Kate Lawlor, Ciara Moynihan, Carrie Hickey, Roisin O'Sullivan, Laura O'Carroll, Alibhe Gallagher, Eleana O'Donoghue. Subs : Grace O'Connor, Grainne Spillane. Coaches Mairead Mangan and Maureen Hegarty Vogels.

St. Patricks Parade

We will be marching once again this year in the Parade. Once again we will have a float and looking for all our members to march with our Club. The route is changed this year and we will be meeting on Mission Road at 1.15pm.

Tiernaboul National School 6th Class have entered the Young Entrepreneur with a business "Cozy Candles Killarney". The product is so professional and can be purchased from Cronins Foodstore or at the school 064 6634767. They are in the process of making more candles for St. Patrick's day, Mother's Day and ALL occasions. You can place an order by email cozycandleskillarney@gmail.com. A lovely handmade gift to get or receive.

The Sem

Congratulations to the Sem who overcame Rochestown by a comprehensive win in the Semi Final with a score 2-29 to 1-0. Well done to our Spa players Dara Moynihan and David Spillane and to the team in the Final.

Gaeltacht Scholarship

Anyone interested in applying for scholarship please contact the Secretary 087 6332773 for a form. Please note the applicant must apply separately to the Coláiste to book a place, after which they will get a booking number to put on their application form. Anyone over 18 such as trainee teachers attending the college as part of their degree are not eligible for scholarships. Deadline for all completed forms to be sent to East Kerry Board which must be reach Co Board before March 31st.

ASAP

There will be an information talk on health matters at the clubhouse on Monday March 23rd at 8.15pm with Dr Gary Stack, specifically on heart health. This talk is open to all members, especially the players and coaches. Any queries or further information available by contacting Deirdre on 085 1216359.

Clothes/Books/Old Phones Drive Collection

We collect all year round. All proceeds goes towards the underage section of this club. Time to clear those wardrobes and can be dropped off to Spa clubhouse during the day or in the evening. All clothes any condition (clean), belts, bags, shoes and books (no school text books) and any old phones can be collected. Contact Anne Holland 085 7780883 or John O'Donoghue 087 9403517.

Sympathy is extended to the O'Donoghue and Gleeson families on the death of Hugh Anthony O'Donoghue Gortamakerry. To John and Eileen Hickey Minish on the death of Eileen's, mother Sheila Moynihan Mill Road, Rathmore and to the McSweeney family Mastergeeha on the death of their mother.
