Spa GAA have been announced as one of the successful applicants nationally for energy grant funding under the SE Systems Community Fund programme 2025. The fund is open to community groups and sports clubs to support and empower not for profit organizations in delivering sustainable energy efficient projects that will reduce their energy bills. Launched in 2022 the fund is designed to drive long-term community benefits by providing financial support, technical resources and expert guidance.
In the case of Spa GAA the Grant allocation is earmarked for a full insulation retrofit of their Sports Hall and Clubhouse to make their building infrastructure more thermally resilient, along with an external lighting upgrade by replacement of old floodlighting with energy efficient L.E.D. fittings.
This marks another important milestone in the clubโs ongoing transition to energy conservation and sustainability following the installation of a Solar PV system earlier this year.
Welcoming the funding at a media launch in The Garden Restaurant, Blackrock, Cork, James Cahill, on behalf of the club thanked SE Systems โ for supporting the power of sport and recreation to bring people together, promote healthy lifestyles and build connections in the community.โ Spa GAA are one of 3 clubs in the country who have been chosen by SE Systems to front a national print media campaign to promote the Community Fund in tandem with the announcement of successful applicants for 2025
