There was huge excitement across Killarney this week as our much loved Spa GAA mascot, Spark, headed back to school with a very important mission — to help spread the word that the Spa GAA Academy returns on Saturday 7th March.
Spark packed his school bag and set off on a tour of local primary schools, visiting Tiernaboul, Lissivigeen, St Oliver’s, Gaelscoil, Mercy, Loreto and Loughquittane along the way. At every stop he received a fantastic welcome, with plenty of high-fives, big smiles and excited waves as he made his way through classrooms and schoolyards.
He was especially delighted to meet so many children who are already part of the Spa GAA Academy. There were lots of familiar faces eager to tell him how much they’re looking forward to getting back out on the pitch for another season of fun and football.
The school visits created a real buzz and were all about encouraging boys and girls across the Killarney area to come along and get involved. The Spa GAA Academy is open to children aged 3+ and provides a fun, inclusive and supportive environment where young players can develop fundamental movement skills, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy themselves. The club also caters for all age groups right up to minor level.
Spark is now counting down the days until Saturday 7th March and is looking forward to welcoming back all his academy friends — and hopefully many new ones too — for another exciting year at Spa GAA. Please help us spread the word — tell your friends, family, neighbours and school friends. Everyone is welcome at Spa GAA! Find out more about our Academy at https://spagaa.com/pages/academy
