This International Women’s Day, Spa is proud to celebrate the incredible women and girls who are such a vital part of our club and community.
From our ladies footballers and Scór participants, to coaches, volunteers, committee members, parents and supporters, women play a hugely important role in every corner of Spa. Their dedication, energy and passion help create the welcoming, inclusive and vibrant community that makes our club so special.
Across the playing fields, on stage through Scór, and behind the scenes helping the club run smoothly, the contribution of the women of Spa continues to inspire the next generation and strengthen our club for the future.

Get Involved in Spa
If you are a woman or girl living in Killarney or the surrounding area and would like to become part of the Spa community, we would love to welcome you. Whether you want to play, take part in cultural activities, volunteer or simply become more involved in the club, there truly is something for everyone at Spa.
Football
The Spa Ladies team is made up of a fantastic mix of ages and abilities, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone involved.
It’s a fun-filled, enthusiastic and dedicated group who love football just as much as the friendships that come with being part of a team. New players and supporters are always welcome. If you are interested in joining, please contact our Ladies Secretary Caitriona Carroll on spa.kerry@lgfa.ie
Scór
Spa boasts one of the most successful Scór sections in the country, with several All-Ireland successes across many Scór disciplines at both Senior and Juvenile level.
But Scór is about far more than winning competitions. It celebrates Irish culture, music, dance, storytelling and the Irish language, bringing people together to enjoy and preserve our traditions. At Spa, it is another wonderful way for members of all ages to get involved, express themselves and be part of the club community.
If you would like to get involved in this area, please contact our Irish Language and Cultural Officer Anna O'Connor – 086-210 7874.
Spa Academy & Underage Teams
Spa GAA provides opportunities for girls to get involved in Gaelic games from a very young age. Our girls’ teams run from ABCs (ages 3–5) all the way up to Minor level (under 18).
Our Spa Academy is a fantastic introduction to sport, focusing on fun, movement, teamwork and developing a love of Gaelic games in a positive and welcoming environment.
You can find out more about our academy HERE, and if you are interested in joining at any level please contact Coiste na nÓg Secretary Tracey O’Mahony – 087-138 5612.
Mothers & Others
Spa Gaelic for Mothers & Others was established in 2024 and has quickly become one of the most vibrant and welcoming groups in our club.
With over 50 members and growing, it’s a fantastic way for women in our community to get active, try something new and enjoy being part of Spa GAA in a fun and relaxed environment. Whether you’ve played football before or are trying it for the first time, everyone is welcome.
You can find out more about our Mothers & Others group HERE, and if you are interested in joining please contact Susan Waters – 087 9010999.
Volunteering & General Spa Membership
Spa is proud to be one of the most vibrant and inclusive clubs in Killarney and the wider community.
Across the club there are many opportunities to get involved through volunteering, coaching, supporting teams, helping at events, or simply becoming part of the Spa community and enjoying the use of our excellent facilities.
