Spa U16 Girls got their East Kerry League campaign off to a strong start when they hosted Firies in the opening round.

Both teams began the game brightly, with an even opening period that saw some great football played by both sides. Firies worked hard early on, but Spa soon found their rhythm and took control with some excellent teamwork that resulted in well-worked goals.

By halftime, Spa had built a solid lead, going in ahead by 3-7 to 0-4 after a strong first-half performance.

Spa carried that momentum into the second half, continuing to work hard across the pitch and adding further scores. Their attacking play proved very effective, and they extended their lead with more goals and points to secure a convincing victory.

At the final whistle, Spa ran out winners on a scoreline of 5-10 to 0-5.

All of the girls put in a tremendous effort and showed great determination throughout the match. It was also fantastic to see Leah Doolan back in action again.
