Spa Ladies continued their winning run with a victory over Killarney Legion at Spa on Sunday morning.
Spa started well, with Mairead Bennett opening the scoring after Ciara O’Sullivan won the throw-in. Legion responded with a point from Ciara Randles, but Spa soon took control. A goal from Liadh Tobin, followed by a penalty from Saoirse Kelly, helped Spa build a solid lead.
Half-time score: 2-7 to 0-4
Legion opened the second half with a free, but Spa’s defence remained strong throughout. Spa were reduced to 14 players late in the second half but their defence held firm. Points for Spa kept the scoreboard moving, while two further goals sealed the win.
Well done to Olivia Cremin and Staci Kennedy on their debuts for Spa Ladies.
A confident all-round performance saw Spa secure their third win in a row, finishing 4-12 to 0-9.
Spa GAA would like to wish Aoibhe O’Doherty a speedy recovery following her injury during the game.
