Spa, missing a number of players, hosted Listry in their first home game of the season. Playing with the aid of the breeze, Listry made the brighter start and led by eight points at halftime.

Spa came out with much greater intensity in the second half and put in a spirited performance, but were repeatedly denied by an excellent Listry goalkeeper. Despite creating several clear goal chances, they couldn’t find the scores needed, with Listry holding on for a 3-10 to 1-13 win.

There were plenty of positives for Spa. Brendan McHugh was a commanding presence at full back, well supported by Jack Rice, while Eric Corcoran continued his fine scoring form.
