Spa U16 Girls produced a superb team performance to record an impressive win over Laune Rangers in an entertaining contest.
The game began at a lively pace, with both sides showing great skill and determination. Laune Rangers started well and traded early scores with Spa as both teams settled quickly and played some excellent football.
As the first half progressed, Spa began to find their rhythm. Two well-taken goals, along with some fine point-taking, saw them take control and build a strong lead. By the interval, Spa were firmly in front, 2-7 to 0-3.
Spa carried that momentum into the second half, starting brightly and moving the ball well to add some excellent scores. Their attacking play continued to trouble the Laune Rangers defence, and two further goals, combined with a series of well-worked points, pushed Spa further ahead.
It was a terrific team display, with Spa running out convincing winners on a final score of 4-13 to 1-4.
There were a number of standout performances, with Anabel Casey, Tara Daly, Emma O’Connor, Alana Collins and Lily O’Leary all impressing with their work rate and skill. A special welcome also to Rebecca, who made her first appearance for the Spa U16 girls and played her part in a fine team effort.
The win sees Spa now looking ahead to a final against Glenflesk in the coming weeks, where they will hope to continue their strong form.
