Spa finished off their East Kerry League campaign with a defeat to near neighbours Glenflesk. Glenflesk raced into an early lead before Spa responded with a well-taken goal.
Spa defended well but were wasteful in possession in the final third.
The loss of Epin Brosnan at half-time, followed by Jack Gleeson in the second half, didn’t help the cause, but Spa continued to bring the game to Glenflesk. A well-taken Aidan Hickey goal brought the gap back to three points but, try as they might, Spa couldn’t get any closer. Glenflesk finished strongly with the last scores of the game to win out on a 1-13 to 2-4 scoreline.
There were plenty of positives for Spa, with Brendan McHugh and Jack Rice continuing their recent good form in defence. Spa will now turn their attention to the Division 1E final against Fossa next Thursday night.
