Spa U14 girls produced a spirited and determined performance on Bank Holiday Monday but were just edged out by Corca Dhuibhne in a closely contested encounter.

With a throw-in at 11:30, the game proved to be a tight battle from start to finish, with the visitors ultimately claiming a narrow one-point victory on a final scoreline of 3-04 to 3-03.

Spa’s work rate and commitment were evident throughout. Laura delivered a tireless display, covering every blade of grass, while Sophie made a significant impact after moving from defence into midfield.

The defensive unit stood strong under pressure, turning in a disciplined and resolute performance. Lilly, along with Tara and Erin Daly, were particularly impressive, consistently breaking up attacks and holding firm against a physical opposition. Sadie also made a notable contribution, showing great awareness by calling for kick-outs and driving forward to support attacking play.

Corca Dhuibhne brought strength and intensity to the contest, but Spa matched them with excellent teamwork and determination across the field. Despite creating several scoring opportunities, it was just one of those days where a few chances didn’t quite come off.

There are plenty of positives to take from the performance as Spa now look ahead to their next outing away to Finuge/St Senans on Monday the 11th.

Well done to all involved. Spa abú 💙💛
