Spa fell just short in a gripping final against Fossa, losing out at the death after a tremendous battle.

Fossa made the brighter start, but true to form Spa showed their resilience and fought their way back into the contest as half-time approached. Midway through the second half, Spa found themselves seven points adrift, yet they refused to yield.

Inspired by a commanding display from Brendan McHugh at full back and the leadership of captain Adam Moynihan in midfield, Spa mounted a stirring comeback. Goals from James Marshall and Moynihan helped turn the tide, and with time almost up, Spa edged a point in front.

Fossa responded when a defensive lapse allowed them to level matters and send the game to extra time.

Once more, Fossa struck first in the additional period, but Spa continued to surge with momentum. Torin Lyne and Jack Gleeson showed immense fitness and determination, hunting down every ball and driving their side forward. Spa came agonisingly close when they rattled the crossbar and were then left frustrated after strong penalty appeals were waved away in the scramble that followed, much to the disbelief of the Spa supporters.

Fossa seized the lifeline, breaking upfield to score what proved the decisive goal and held on by the narrowest of margins.

It was heartbreak for Spa, but there could be no questioning their courage, character, or commitment. Once again, they left absolutely everything on the pitch.
