Spa U14 girls were left to settle for a draw after a thrilling and closely contested encounter with Finuge/St Senans in Mountcoal on Monday evening.

On a beautiful sunny evening, eighteen Spa players made the trip and delivered a strong performance throughout. Playing against the wind in the first half, Spa showed great composure, working hard for their scores and taking some excellent points under pressure.

Laura and Annabelle were particularly impressive in midfield, providing a solid platform for the team, while Sophie delivered an outstanding display at full back. Despite their efforts, Spa trailed by two points at the break, with the score at 2-8 to 2-6.

Evie put in a tireless shift at centre forward, while Caitlin impressed both at full forward and later on the wing, making a strong impact in open play.

Spa pushed on in the second half and looked to have done enough for victory, leading by three points with just two minutes remaining. However, Finuge/St Senans struck late for a crucial goal to level the game, leaving it all square at 3-10 apiece at the final whistle.

Overall, it was a very positive performance from Spa, with some excellent scoring and great teamwork on display. Well done to all involved. 💙💛
