Spa Senior Ladies travelled to Killorglin today to face Laune Rangers, and came away with another excellent victory on a score line of 2-7 to 1-8.
It was a lovely game of football played in challenging weather conditions, with some excellent scores from both teams and great commitment shown throughout.
Ava Brosnan opened the scoring early on as Spa settled into the game well. Despite being short a number of our experienced players who were away representing Killarney Spa CCE at the Fleadh Cheoil, the team showed great determination and character. With only 13 players available, our underage players stepped up to the mark and played a vital role in their success.
Spa went into half-time in a comfortable position leading 2-4 to 1-2.
Laune Rangers fought hard after the break and worked their way back into the game, but Spa remained the stronger side overall and held on for a deserved victory at full-time.
The ladies are out again next weekend against table toppers Ballymac, with the date yet to be confirmed after the fixture was previously postponed.
