If you missed it on our social media channels or in the local press, the Kerry U20s were crowned Dalata Hotel Group All-Ireland Champions over the June Bank Holiday weekend, with Spa proudly represented by senior player Joey McCarthy and Conor Gleeson, who was part of the back room management team.

Since that memorable victory, the All-Ireland and Munster trophies have been making the rounds locally, creating plenty of special moments and photo opportunities.

Joey, Conor and members of the Kerry U20 panel brought the trophies to Spa during our recent Club 7s event, where they received a fantastic welcome from the large crowd in attendance. It was a proud occasion for the club to celebrate the achievements of two of our own on the national stage.

The celebrations continued when Joey returned to his former school, Lissivigeen National School, bringing both trophies along for pupils and staff to enjoy. There was also a special visit to Spa Boys U16 training, where players had the opportunity to meet Joey and pose for photos with the silverware.

One particularly memorable photograph from the evening featured Joey alongside Spa U16 selector Mike O'Donoghue, who lined out at wing-forward on the last Kerry side to win what was then the All-Ireland U21 Championship back in 2008.

Congratulations once again to Joey McCarthy and Conor Gleeson on their outstanding achievements with Kerry. We are immensely proud of their contribution to this All-Ireland success and look forward to seeing what comes next.
