The Spa U12 boys team faced their near neighbours Gneeveguilla last Wednesday evening in a closely fought and entertaining contest played in challenging weather conditions.
Despite the testing conditions, the lads showed great determination and commitment throughout, working hard from the first whistle to the last. It was particularly encouraging to see many of the skills and principles developed in training being put into practice during the game.
There were some excellent catches, strong fielding, and accurate kicking on display as the team continued to show their growing confidence and development on the ball. The match remained competitive throughout, with both sides giving their all in a spirited local derby.
Most pleasing of all was the effort and teamwork shown by the lads right to the final whistle.
