Spa’s U14 girls were on the road this evening, travelling to Milltown for the next round of the 11-a-side championship, and were treated to a glorious evening of sunshine for their two games.

Game one saw the girls take on hosts Milltown, going down on a scoreline of Milltown 4-4 to Spa’s 1-3. In game two, they faced a strong Currow side, finishing Currow 5-10 to Spa 2-3.

While the results didn’t go Spa’s way on the day, there was plenty to be proud of. The girls came up against two strong teams but never dropped their heads, competing right to the final whistle in both games. Every score was earned through hard work, and the team showed great character and sportsmanship throughout.

Evenings like this — good weather, a full panel, and two hard-fought games — are exactly what these girls need at this stage of their development. Building resilience against tougher opposition now will pay off down the line. Well done to all the girls who togged out, and thanks to Milltown for the hosting.
