Our U14s took to the field in Spa last Thursday for a Division 3 East Kerry League clash against our neighbours, Glenflesk, and what a fantastic game of football it turned out to be.

The first half ebbed and flowed, with Spa starting brightly and controlling the opening exchanges. Had we been more clinical in front of goal, we could have put some daylight between the teams early on. Glenflesk then enjoyed their own period of dominance and, at half-time, held a four-point lead, with the score Spa 3-4, Glenflesk 3-8.

As has been the case in many of our big games, the lads saved their best for the second half. A huge work rate saw us create turnovers and put pressure on the Glenflesk forwards, providing the platform for our own forwards to create and convert scoring chances.

We outscored our neighbours 2-9 to 2-2 in the second half to complete a fantastic comeback and secure a well-deserved 5-13 to 5-10 victory.

Our captain, Keenan McCarthy, proudly received the trophy on behalf of his teammates.

A huge well done to all the lads on a brilliant team performance.
