On Sunday, our Senior Ladies made the short trip to Ballymacelligott for a hard-fought championship encounter.

Ballymac opened the scoring in the first half, but Spa responded immediately as both sides settled into a fiercely competitive battle from the throw-in. Neither team was willing to give an inch, with scores exchanged throughout an entertaining opening period. A crucial late goal for Spa just before half-time gave our ladies a narrow one-point advantage heading into the break.

The second half continued at the same high intensity, with both teams producing some excellent scores and showing great determination. It remained a closely contested affair right to the final whistle. Despite a tremendous effort from the Spa girls, Ballymacelligott managed to hold on to their two-point lead in the closing stages, leaving Spa just short at the finish.

While the result did not go our way, the team can be proud of their performance, commitment and fighting spirit throughout the game.

Despite the defeat, Spa have secured a home quarter-final thanks to their second-place finish in the group. They will now take on Glenflesk on Sunday at 12pm in Spa, with the winner of that tie progressing to face Fossa.
