Senior Co League Div 2

Spa 1-16, Tarbert 0-7. Having suffered a bad defeat last week, this was a very important game for Spa in their quest for promotion to Div.1. Spa were missing 5 regular players so the rest of the panel had to dig deep to get a result. They did this in style and proved the importance of having a strong panel. Spa opened the scoring with a point from Shane Cronin after 1 minute. Spa put some great flowing moves together during the first half and were denied certain goals on three occasions by the outstanding Micheal Carrig who was playing in goal for Tarbert. These three point blank saves were the highlight of the first half. Spa went in at half time leading by 9 points to 4.Spa only managed 1 point from Cormac Cronin during the first 17 minutes of the second half. However Spa came to life again when Ryan O'Carroll finally beat Michael Carrig with an excellent strike in the 48th minute. Tarbert died out of the game from here on while Spa tacked on another 6 points to win comfortably Spa introduced Shane Fenton, Conor Kearney, Paul Russell, Bryan Lynch Jamie Spillane and David Spillane during the second half and they all contributed to a well earned victory. Spa team: James Devane, Hugh O'Donoghue, Aidan Cahill (C), Shane Lynch, Ciaran Spillane, Aidan Fleming, Andrew Garnett, Matt Moynihan, Mike McCarthy, Shane Cronin, Ryan O'Carroll, Cormac Cronin, Craig Hickey and Dara Moynihan.
