SPA LOTTO

KERRY LADIES
Well done to Cassandra Buckley and the Kerry Ladies team & management on Sunday afternoon in their LGFA National League Rd1 win over Tipperary. Final score Kerry 0-11 Tipperary 1-4. They play Clare in Rd2 next Saturday February 19th (3pm in Doonbeg)

 

MATTHEW MOYNIHAN IS THE 2020 TIR CHONAILL GAELS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to former Spa player Matt Moynihan who was honoured last Saturday night as the 2020 Player of the Year at Tir Chonaill Gaels GAA club Presentation Night in London. 

 

SPA GAA EASTER CAMP
The Spa GAA Easter Camp returns this April from Monday 11th to Friday 15th. The camp is for primary school children and will take place each day from 9am-1pm at the Spa GAA club grounds in Tullig. There will be week of activities, including tag rugby, treasure hunt, basketball, art, gaelic football, rounders, handball and more! SPORTS CAPITAL ALLOCATION
There was very welcome news last Friday when the allocations for the Sports Capital Grant were announced. Spa are due to receive €96,346 in this year’s Sports Capital Grants towards new dressing rooms, a verti-drain and gym equipment. We are one of the clubs and organisations included in this year’s record total of €150m allocated to the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme, €5.5m of which is to be shared among Kerry clubs and organisations. Huge thanks to our club volunteers and committee members who prepared our grant application and who are continuously working to improve the facilities we have at Spa GAA club.

 

2022 REGISTRATION IS OPEN 
Membership for 2022 is open and can be completed online here on spagaa.com (link on right hand side of the site) or the registrars (Gerard Mangan & Sean O’Sullivan) will be in Spa every Wednesday between 7-8pm over the coming weeks.   

 

SAVE THE DATE: SPA ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT
Spa Annual Awards Night will take place at the Heights Hotel Killarney on Saturday March 26th. It will be a Dinner Dance with music from SuperCéilí. Tickets will be going on sale shortly and will be available from committee members Andrew Garnett, Anne Holland, Adrian O'Sullivan, Ivor Flynn, Mathilda Cronin and Triona Mangan.

 

NATIONAL LEAGUE 
Best of luck to Dan O’Donoghue, Dara Moynihan, Arthur Fitzgerald and the Kerry team & management against Donegal this Sunday February 20th in Rd3 of the Allianz National League. The game is on at 1.45pm in Fitzgerald Stadium.   

 

IRELAND LIGHTS UP  
The Ireland Lights Up winter walks continue each Wednesday night between 7-8pm. Please sign in at the reception area before starting your walk. Everyone welcome. If anyone would be available to help with registration or stewarding any night, all help is greatly appreciated. Any volunteers that can help any evening or any questions please contact Margaret on 087 9181970. **NO DOGS ALLOWED**   

 

CORN UI MHUIRI
Congratulations to Donagh Fahy, Dr Gary Stack and the Sem team & management on their 0-17 to 0-12 win over Tralee CBS in the Corn Uí Mhuirí Munster Schools Final on Saturday. They now go through to the Hogan Cup All Ireland semi-finals on Saturday February 26th. Details TBC

 

STEWARDS NEEDED FOR FITZGERALD STADIUM
Fitzgerald Stadium are currently recruiting volunteer safety stewards for match days. Training will be provided. Anyone interested please contact Theresa O'Mahony on 064 6631700 or admin@fitzgeraldstadium.ie

 

CO MINOR LEAGUES
The Co Minor Leagues are scheduled to begin on the weekend of February 26th. Spa are in Division 2B with Northern Gaels, Ballymacelligott, Listowel Emmets, Ballyduff/Beale and Rathmore. Fixture details TBC

U15 BLITZ IN GALLARUS
Our Spa U15 squad were in Gallarus on Sunday taking part in a blitz organised by An Ghaeltacht. On the day we played An Ghaeltacht, Laune Rangers and Na Gaeil. All the boys did very well and look forward to the season ahead. Thanks to An Ghaeltacht CLG for the invitation.

EAST KERRY SENIOR LEAGUE
Spa travelled to Glenflesk on Sunday afternoon for Rd2 of the East Kerry League with Glenflesk winning out on the day – final score Spa 1-6 Glenflesk 2-9. Spa play Legion in the next round (details TBC).
