Spa hosted Firies on Tuesday evening in wintry conditions in round 3 of the East Kerry Junior League. We started well and by the half time break were leading 0-8 to 0-4. A solid second half saw off a late comeback from Firies and the game ended Spa 0-19 Firies 1-6. Well done to the team and management.

U14 GIRLS SPA V MKL B
We were away to MKL B on Sunday, final score Spa 6-3 to 3-13
Spa u14 ladies were away to MKL b in Listry Sunday evening and a very exciting contest it was. Spa again were slow to start but eventually Aoife O’Connell opened the score line for Spa which seemed to settle them a bit and we were just 3 points behind at halftime.
But again Spa were slow to start in the 3rd quarter and let MKL b score 5 unanswered points leaving Spa with an 8 point deficit to bridge in the last quarter. But fight back they did. It was an outstanding performance by Spa in the final quarter, they pulled together and eventually went two points up but a strong MKL b fought back well to go one point ahead with a few minutes to go. Spa had their chance to snatch the victory in the remaining minutes of the game but unfortunately two scoring chances went wide.
Well done to Spa for a very gutsy performance with a never give up attitude. A special mention for outstanding play has to go to our goalkeeper Sarah Griffin who made brilliant saves to keep us in the game and a brilliant defensive performance from Síofra Brosnan and Muireann Spillane. Ciara O’Donoghue had a great game midfield performance with an immense work rate mirrored by Maggie May O’Donoghue.
Scorers for Spa were Lara O’Neill (4-0), Saoirse Moriarty (2-1), Aoife O’Connell (0-1), Ciara O’Donoghue (0-1). Final score line MKL b 3-13 Spa 6-3.
Spa are home next Sunday evening to ISG B at 7pm.
U12 GIRLS V LAUNE RANGERS B
Our 4th game of the campaign saw us at home to Laune Rangers B on Sunday afternoon.
The girls started brightly with a flurry of scores resulting in a strong lead at half time. Laune Rangers fought on and had a good rally in the third quarter, but our girls regrouped after the water break to finish strongly.
We have now qualified to play Dr Crokes in Div 4 B Final next Wednesday evening 14th July at 19.30.
U8 GIRLS
Fossa hosted our u8 girls last Saturday and had a great experience with their first outing this year.
