MINOR CO LEAGUE RD1: SPA 4-16 MILLTOWN/CASTLEMAINE 6-16

Spa played Milltown/Castlemaine last Friday in the opening round of the Minor Co League. A highly entertaining game and while the visitors led 3-7 to 1-9 at the break, the final score was a very impressive Spa 4-16 to Milltown/Castlemaine 6-16. Well done to all players and the management of Conor Kerins and Brian Devane.

Round 2 is scheduled for Saturday August 15th Spa v Glenflesk (in Glenflesk) with Spa at home to Ardfert in Round 3 on Saturday September 5th.

As some clubs withdrew from the competition earlier in the week, there have been changes to group fixtures, with Group I still including Spa, Ardfert and Glenflesk but Milltown/Castlemaine have now been moved to Group F. Last night’s game is listed as a ‘challenge’ match. To keep the same number of games for everyone, instead of a BYE for each team, some games will be categorised as ‘challenge’ games, so no points will be awarded in these games.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP E-TICKETS AND LIVESTREAM

NEMETON will stream two games from Rd1 of the Senior Club Championship and they can be viewed through the Kerry GAA website on a laptop, desktop, tablet, iPad, smartphone or TV. The cost to watch the stream is €5 per game and next weekend the games livestreamed will be Dr Crokes V Templenoe (Friday July 24th at 7pm) and Kenmare Shamrocks V Kerins O’Rahillys (Saturday July 25th at 3pm).

TICKETING

All tickets will be pre-purchased with maximum attendances set in accordance with government guidelines. The e-ticketing system also removes the need for volunteers to handle cash at the gates. Attendance (including both teams, referee, stewards etc) will remain at 200 people until at least August 10th. For upcoming championship fixtures no tickets will be on public sale (changes will apply when capacity increases to 500). On match day all tickets from either mobile phones or print outs will be scanned using hi-tech laser mobile scanners at each venue, this ensures that full contact tracing information for all attendees will be available to statutory authorities if required.

It is essential that we follow Health and Safety guidance at all times, therefore we must insist that people only attend the game if they have a ticket. Without a ticket, a person cannot be admitted into the grounds.
