Club Notes (May 18th 2020)

PHASE 1 EASING OF RESTRICTIONS

This week Ireland begins Phase 1 easing of restrictions. The advice remains very much to continue to stay home and limit movement to essential travel only, and people are also being advised to wear face coverings or face masks in public spaces. A number of businesses have reopened (Hardware, DIY, repair shops etc) as well as healthcare businesses (opticians, dentists etc) and construction and outdoor work has recommenced. The 5km exercise limit is still in place during Phase 1, and some outdoor sports like golf and tennis can go ahead with 2-4 people. A maximum of 4 people from different households can also meet outdoors. Phase 2 is scheduled to begin on June 8th and at all times the situation is being monitored so the easing of restrictions can be altered or reversed depending on how the virus continues to spread.

ALL GAA ACTIVITY STILL SUSPENDED

While the country is still under restriction of movement and activity, the club grounds and facilities will remain closed completely until further notice from GAA headquarters. There is hope of some GAA returning during the summer, but for now, players, members and the general public are not allowed use of Club Grounds or Facilities for any activity including training or recreational while the current restrictions are in place.
