U15 CO LEAGUE DIVISION 2 SEMI-FINAL
Our U15 boys team played Beaufort in the Div2 Plate semi-final in Spa last Wednesday evening. A solid first half performance saw Spa score 3 well taken goals, however Beaufort stayed in touch with 2 goals of their own to leave the score at 3.06 to 2.03 at the short whistle. The second half proved a closer affair on the score board with both teams trying hard for the result. It finished with a victory for Spa on a scoreline of Spa 4.13 to Beaufort 3.09.

The lads now look forward to a final with Firies who defeated John Mitchel’s in the other semi final. Well done to the boys and commiserations to a young Beaufort side who fought hard on the night in an entertaining and sporting game.

DRINK TEA FOR MND
Spa GAA Healthy Clubs Officer, Margaret Doyle launched an upcoming fundraiser for Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone in the John Kelly room at Spa GAA club on Monday 2nd of May. Present on the evening for Kerry Friends of MND was their chairman Christy Lehane.

This event will be held in Spa on the morning of Saturday May 14th from 10am- 12noon and will include a raffle also.

Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone was set up in Lissivigeen in 2011. Motor Neurone is an extremely debilitating disease with a life expectancy of 3 to 5 years and depends totally on fundraisers to support the care and meet the needs of people suffering with this disease. It has claimed the lives of many local people in our area and has also been highlighted at National level more recently by former RTE journalist and reporter Charlie Bird who is currently battling with this incurable disease.

Margaret felt it was time that Spa GAA club and the wider community supported Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone as that's what inclusion is about. It was hoped to hold this event in 2020 but due to Covid pandemic, was put on hold.

So on May 14th "Drink Tea For MND" and if tea is not your thing sip a coffee. Home baking is also welcome on the day!

Any enquiries to Margaret on 0879181970.
