U10 Blitz in Glenflesk
Congratulations to our U10 boys on winning the Glenflesk annual blitz on Saturday. We took on very strong teams from Rathmore, Kenmare and Gneeveguilla; coming out winners on all 3 games. Next up was the final against a very strong Glenflesk side who also won their 3 games.
Glenflesk got off to a flying start scoring 2 early goals leaving Spa trailing 4 points at half time. Our boys came out fighting in the second half and with 2 minutes to go they took the lead for the first time in the game. Glenflesk threw everything at us in the final minutes but our lads just about held on and came away one-point winners in what was a very exciting game. Final score Spa 1-05 Glenflesk 2-01.
A magnificent game of football played in very wet and windy conditions. Also, congratulations to our very own Maurice Joy on receiving Player of the Tournament. Thanks to all at Glenflesk GAA for organising such a great tournament, especially James Furlong who put in a huge amount of work. Well done again to Spa and thanks to all the players and the parents who braved the bad weather conditions, it was all worth it in the end!
