U10 BOYS
Our U10 boys entertained Kenmare in Spa last Saturday. Two teams lined out with great football skills on display by both teams. These fun games are vital in the development of our younger members and improve on each outing. Thanks to Kenmare for travelling and all the parents and coaches.

Unfortunately for the boys, we lost the game by a single point. A special mention the parents who got the boys to the game on Sneem. It was not an easy journey. The management really appreciated the effort. Final score: Spa 2-14 Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane 3-12

SENIOR LADIES INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP RD7 SPA 5-9 SCARTAGLEN 2-4
The senior ladies secured their spot in the semi-final when they defeated Scartaglen on their home turf with a comprehensive win. Katie O Connor made a valuable contribution for the injured Cassandra Buckley in mid Field and scored a great goal in the first few seconds of this game when she won the midfield throw in. Niamh Kearney slotted over another score. Scartaglen settled and an incident within our goalmouth resulted in a penalty scored and brought them back to narrow the gap. This gained their composure and won valuable possession for their forwards. They added another goal and put them in the lead. However, the excellent full forward Niamh Kearney equalized with Spa’s second goal. Both teams added another point and all level at the end of the first half, 2-3 apiece.

Second half was all Spa with excellent team play in a dark, wet and windy evening in Scartaglen. Our seniors kept the pressure on the home side and pushed up with them only passing the midfield a few times in the second half. Aisling Mahony made some great runs from the back line to assist in great scores from Karol Fleming, Lynn Jones and Niamh Kearney. Overall a great effort from the team with superb performances from Ciara Moynihan, Aisling Mahony, Katie O Brien, Loretta Maher, Katie O Connor, Liadh Tobin, Niamh Kearney and Mairead Bennett. Best of luck to the ladies in the semi-final away to Castleisland next week.
