Co Minor League Fixtures

The Co Minor League fixtures were sent to clubs earlier today. Spa are in Group I with Milltown/Castlemaine, Ardfert and Glenflesk. Round 1 is set to commence on Friday July 17th with Round 2 on Saturday August 15th and Round 3 on Saturday September 5th

*Minor Co. League is U18 (but Minor Co. Championship will be U17)

Amended Rules & Regulations Governing the 2020 Minor Football League

(As per County Committee decisions – Nov 2019 & Eolaire 2020 & Subsequent Emergency Congress & Central Council & Co Management decisions 2020)

Matches in Group A – K to be played at 15 – 13 - 11 a-side. Where both teams have 15 players on the night – 15 a side game must be played. Where one team has only 13 or 14 players the opposition must play 13 a side on the night. Where one team has only 11 or 12 players the opposition must play 11 a side on the night. Players going off injured or being sent off has no implication for numbers playing with the opposition.

For all games in the minor football league, the CCC of the County Board may and without agreement of either team involved, change venue at short notice and play midweek games regardless of “entitlements” to home venue or weekend games.

All games to be played on date and venue specified on games programme by CCC. No change to date will be allowed.

The team who finishes top of division will be declared winners.

In the event of a tie, the following shall apply:

(i) Where two Teams only are involved - the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the previous game in the Competition;

(ii) Scoring Difference (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For);

(iii) Highest Total Score For;

If there is a three-way tie and if all three teams have taken points off each other, scoring average will apply.

Conceding a game will be taken into consideration by the CCC in determining placings. As a result of conceding a fixture you will be placed below a team on the same number of points.

The withdrawal of any player/team due to Covid related illness/ quarantine does not entitle that team to a postponement of game or deferment of the competition. Where both teams agree not to play, the game will be deemed null and void subject to final decision of the CCC.
