There has been some welcome news this evening as Taoiseach Micheál Martin announced the latest phase of the re-opening plan for Ireland over the coming weeks.
The great news for the GAA is that while underage (u18) has returned since April 26th, all other groups can return from Monday May 10th with games (without spectators) allowed from June 7th.
As always, the most accurate and up-to-date information is available on www.gov.ie/Covid19
The basic outline is as follows, but caution is still advised for everyone and the spread of the virus, especially any new variants, will be constantly monitored.
The main aim here is that when any sector of the economy opens, they want it to stay open.
The re-opening plan will be covered under 2 phases:
PHASE 1:
May 10th
Inter-county travel is permitted
Hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, personal services etc can re-open
Adult sports training to resume in pods of maximum 15 people
Outdoor social visits allowed (up to 3 households or maximum of 6 people)
Small organised outdoor gatherings allowed (max 15 people)
Religious services can resume with a limit of 50 people attending
Click and collect permitted for all non-essential retail with retail visits by appointment allowed
Up to 50 people allowed at weddings and funerals
Museums, galleries, attractions and libraries can open
Indoor private home visiting (without masks or social distancing) allowed for those fully vaccinated
May 17th
Retail can re-open fully
PHASE 2 (If the situation remains stable):

June 7th
Gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres can open for individual training
Outdoor hospitality allowed with specific safety measures in place (bars & restaurants)
Indoor household visits from one other household can begin again
Adult sporting matches can take place (but without spectators)
Number of guests at wedding receptions can increase to 25
