U12B GIRLS SHIELD FINAL
U12B girls shield final took place last Wednesday night against Castlegregory. Our young squad played very well but unfortunately met a stronger Castlegregory side on the night.

Well done to all involved, players, parents and especially coaches Margaret and Liam.

U15 EAST REGION DIVISION 4 FINAL SPA 3-12 FIRIES 3-8
Our young blues played out their second final this season against the same opponents Firies in a pulsating encounter in Direen this evening.

Firies came fast out of the blocks early and within 7 mins were 1-3 to no score up. Our boys didn’t panic and in the following 10 minutes tagged on 3-1 of our own. HT Spa 3-4 Firies 1-4 .

Second half saw Spa start with 14 for the first 10 min after a black card late in the first half , during this period our boys controlled the game and stretched their lead to 8 with 10 minutes to go. To their credit Firies came roaring back into the tie tagging on 2 more goals. With minutes remaining our boys kept their nerve and finished the game winning the final by the same margin as the county league final by 4 points. FT Spa 3-12 Firies 3-08 .

Great credit to both sets of players for putting on a great game of football played in front of a large crowd in Direen.

Congratulations to our U15 boys and their management team

SPA SENIOR LADIES THROUGH TO DONAL CURTIN CUP FINAL
The Spa Senior Ladies turned out on Monday 19th July to play Austin Stacks in Tralee in the semi-final of the Donal Curtin Cup. Playing conditions were ideal, not too warm given the temperatures earlier in the day. The Spa Ladies knew this game was going to be tough but they took them on from the start.

The Spa Ladies displayed fantastic team effort and played great attacking football. They worked tirelessly throughout the game to stay on top of the leader board.  Austin Stacks were a very strong side but the Spa Ladies rallied through their opponents defence leading the game by 6 goals and 3 points.

The final score Spa 6-3 to Stacks 1-9.

The Senior Ladies team have reached the Final in the Donal Curtin Cup and will meet their neighbours Dr Crokes. Date and time to be confirmed at a later stage.
