In response to the reduced pre-season preparation time for inter-county teams prior to the commencement of the Allianz Leagues, the number of substitutes permitted during normal time in the 2021 Allianz League matches will be increased to seven.

Rules of Specification, Rule 2.4 (i) be temporarily amended for the 2021 Allianz Football and Hurling leagues as follows:

· "2.4 (i) The maximum number of substitutes permitted during the playing of Normal Time shall be seven. Each team is permitted to make substitutions on a maximum of five separate occasions during a game."

Following a decision of the GAA Management Committee at their meeting earlier today, the motion to remove the Maor Fóirne comes into effect immediately, and there will be no Maor Fóirnes allowed during the Allianz League or Championship.

It was also agreed that for all senior inter-county hurling matches that a yellow sliotar shall be used.
