Throwback to our Spa Senior Team in 1983

In 1983, the Spa senior team competed in the Co League and the O’Donoghue Cup, and they combined with Glenflesk for the Co Championship.

As there were gaps between league and championship games during the year, to keep the senior and junior teams actively playing football, the club organised a local 7-a-side league, with six teams competing. After a series of exciting games, Pat Casey’s team emerged victorious over William Herlihy’s side in the final - after extra time - and were presented with a Jimmy Doherty Memorial Trophy.
