U12 Girls Spa v Scartaglen

The girls played their last game in the preliminary round and lost to much stronger teams. This team is young and for many the first time playing competitive games. All improving with each game and look forward to the new fixtures with teams of equal standard.

U14 Boys Spa 1-10 Rathmore 2-17

Spa dominated most of the first half of this exciting game and were so unlucky to hit the post three times and the crossbar. Great displays from Danny Coffey and Cian Russell in defence . The energiser Shane O Sullivan with numerous bursts through to deliver the perfect passes to our forward line. Oran Daly hit the back of the net in the first half. The welcome addition of the injured Timmy Moynihan scoring an impressive eight points. A great team effort but Rathmore never left us out of their grasps and secured 1-3 to end the first half. On resumption of the second half, the home side took control, aided by a strong wind and started to pull away with well taken scores. Lady Luck didn’t visit Spa and although we had plenty of possession, we just couldn’t covert. Overall, the coaches were very happy with their team’s impressive performance.

U16 Boys Spa 1-9 Scart/Cordal 4-13

Credit must be given to this team who started with just 14 players against a full squad. The team played very well despite the final result. Both goalies deserve great credit for pulling off great saves. We never gave up and kept moving forward, with great work by Roiri O Connor and Donagh Fahy. The Hickey brothers, Sean and Donal, worked in zinc with the help of Cody Coffey, Rian O Neill and Hugh Murhill. Speedy recovery to injured Eoghan Mulvaney who was a huge loss in the first half. All in all a great team effort.
