Over the past few years there has been much discussion about the lack of exercise that young people are getting and this leads to children not developing physical literacy and fundamental movement skills.
Now more then ever we need to keep our young people active. There is no football, hurling or camogie training, there is no gymnastics, ballet or irish dancing, the swimming pools have closed, the tennis courts are out of bounds, all activities have ceased so how do we keep our young children active while having fun and keeping them safe.
Kerry GAA have been working with The Performance Lab over the past few months on an exciting new program called "Superheroes". This program provides a fun and engaging way for children to learn the fundamental movements by using the modern day "Superhero" moves of Ironman, Spiderman, Thor, Hulk and Superman. You might ask what are the fundamental movements, well quite simply they are the squat, lunge, push, rotate, crawl, jump and land. Superheros provides a ready-made physical literacy program based on the most up to date sports science research which a child can do from anywhere, it requires no equipment and can be supported from any smart device.
The Performance Lab have given FREE access to EVERYONE for First 5 levels of the Superheroes platform.
