The Spa senior ladies turned out on Sunday 15th May to play MKL Gaels in Listry. The sun shone brightly throughout the game but proved challenging for both teams as conditions were very warm.
The Spa Senior Ladies had a tough start with one of it’s players Ciara Moynihan sustaining an ankle injury before the game. The senior ladies started well but MKL Gaels swiftly changed pace and led the game by 2 goals and 4 points at half time.
The Spa Ladies showed great heart and fought their way back in the second half and scored 2 goals and 6 points to narrow the gap to a 1 point difference.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure a win for our ladies but they showed great spirit and leadership right to the end. Final score MKL Gaels 3-9 Spa 2-11.
The Spa senior ladies have a bye this weekend but are playing away to Legion in the last round of the Donal Curtin Cup on Sunday 26th June at 12noon.
