East Kerry got back the Bishop Moynihan Cup after 20 years in Austin Stack Park on Sunday November 10th, dethroning the current champions Dr Crokes.

Result: Spa 2-10 / Gneeveguilla 0-8Spa dominated in this semi-final against a fancied Gneeveguilla, to reach the final against Scartaglen next weekend. The home side started strong, with frequent possession of the ball and some great scores.The first goal came from John Falvey, with a deflection from the Gneeveguilla goalie - followed by Mike Mc adding another point. Niall O'Mahoney proceeded to add another, and found the net with a beautiful punch, assisted by John Falvey. It was all Spa in the first half, until the away team slotted over two points, from Michael Murhpy and Padraig Doyle. Spa Senior Ladies are CO Champions
Spa Ladies won the coveted Junior A Championship cup last Sunday. They had tough competition against Milltown/Listry in sunny Castleisland.This win was a great team effort from the goalie Linda Bruggener, pulling off some great saves. Our backs Sinead Cronin, Kate Maher, Mairead Bennett and Elizabeth Stack were superb. Loretta Maher controlled the centre of the pitch, while our forwards were on song. Lynn Jones notched up great scores along with Mairead Finnegan. Young Ciara Moynihan was all over the pitch - but player of the match would go to the energiser Claire Moynihan, who ran every blade of the field to defend and score to help secure our victory.Well done to everyone on the team, and mentors Tim O Connor and Donal O Doherty. They meet the winners of Cork on Oct 6th. Captain Cassandra Buckley received the winning cup from Kerry Ladies Co Board PRO Dan Kearney.

Michael Foley opened the Spa tally, followed by his second and a point from the reliable sharpshooter Mike O’Donoghue. A super move by Liam Kearney and Craig Hickey set Michael McCarthy up for Spa’s first goal as points from Craig Hickey and Dan O’Donoghue followed, it was Shane Cronin’s effort that finished to the back of the net before the break to make it Spa 2-8 Listry 0-7 at half-time. Listry opened the second he with an onslaught of points but Spa replied with seven unanswered scores from Andrew Garnett, Michael Foley (2), Mike O’Donoghue (4). Late scores from Liam Kearney and Mike O’Donoghue put an end to a great result. Spa 3-7 John Mitchell’s 2-14. Spa Minors played John Mitchell’s in a very entertaining game at home today. The boys in blue were missing a couple of regulars but inspired by Niall McCarthy in midfield turned in a great team performance in racing into a two point lead at half time. Playing against a strong breeze in the second half Spa played well before losing this tight contest at the end when Mitchell’s scored a late goal.
