AGE ACTION AND IRISH RED CROSS COVID-19 HARDSHIP FUND- HELPING OLDER PEOPLE
Age Action has launched a COVID-19 Hardship Fund in conjunction with the Irish Red Cross to respond to the needs of older people experiencing additional hardship as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis. They have made available a one-off grant, up to a maximum of €500, per person/household affected.
The grant is for older people in need of assistance, family members supporting an older person and carers of older people, social workers and local voluntary organisations or community groups providing direct assistance to individuals within this target group. This can include small household maintenance, repairs and safety improvements; food and basic provisions and associated delivery costs; small appliances (fridge, freezer, washing machine, TV, cooker, etc.); digital technology equipment such as smart phones or tablets; increased energy costs or telephone bills; additional home or personal security costs; travel costs for essential reasons (medical appointments, etc.).
There is an online form available on www.ageaction.ie or contact: hardship2020@redcross.ie or Irish Red Cross (01 6424600) or Age Action (01 475 6989). The closing date for applications is 31st August 2020.

Spa GAA are part of the Community Volunteer programme and as well as the Kerry Volunteers helpline, we have a list of club members in different areas that have offered to be available if called upon during these few weeks. LILY OF KILLARNEY CANCELLED
The annual Lily of Killarney, organised by the Spa Ladies Committee, has been cancelled due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19. This year’s event was due to take place in June, but the committee have confirmed that this year’s event will not go ahead, and they look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021.
ALL GAA ACTIVITY STILL SUSPENDED
A reminder to everyone that all Clubs grounds and facilities remain closed completely until further notice. Players, Members and the General Public are not allowed use of Club Grounds or Facilities for any activity including training or recreational while these restrictions are in place.

CLUB REGISTRATION REMAINS OPEN ONLINE
With the closure of GAA properties and club grounds over the last couple of weeks, registration for 2020 will remain open ONLINE only for the coming weeks. Anyone who has not registered yet is asked to do so through the link on the website spagaa.com. Notice will be given before the online page closes and GAA activity will resume once again in Spa.
SPA LOTTO
The Lotto has been suspended for the foreseeable future. The expiry dates of annual tickets and online tickets will be extended to compensate for weeks when Lotto is not held.
