Well done to St Brendan's College who defeated HS Clonmel to book their place in the Corn Ui Mhuiri Munster Championship semi-final v Cork side Rochestown on February 7th at 12.30 in Mallow. Congrats to selector Kieran Herlihy and the Spa players on the Sem panel - David Carroll, Ciarán Spillane, Michael McCarthy, Liam Kearney, Dara Moynihan, Evan Cronin, Michael Foley, Aydan Mulvaney and Mikey Moynihan.

Ladies Football

U-6/U-8/U-10 will commence indoors every Wednesday 5-6. please bring runners. U-12 Girls began training Saturday mornings indoors 11/12. Please bring gear for indoors and outdoors. Senior Ladies training continues every Friday night 6-7.

U-21 East Kerry Semi Final Championship Division 1

Spa 6-9 Glenflesk 4-6 Spa got off to a great start with a goal straight from the throw in by Craig Hickey. This was followed by a point from Liam Kearney. Lee O'Donoghue registered Glenflesks first point from a 45 after a great save from Aaron Farrell. Both teams traded points. Mike Foley who was outstanding on the day registered his first pt followed by the first of his hat trick of goals. Ciaran Spillane was unlucky hitting the upright but Shane Cronin was on the receiving end and polished it with a point. Gavin Kelly rifled through the Spa defense to register a brilliant goal followed by his team mate Lee O'Donoghue with a point. Dara Moynihan made an impact when he came on for the injured Liam Kearney with his name on the score sheet with a point. Darragh Roche scored his second goal of the day and the excellent Gavin Kelly also found the net with 2 minutes left in the first half. Up by 4 but the Spa lads dug deep with the busy Shane Cronin making a great run at the Glenflesk defense only to be brought down in the penalty area. Evan Cronin made sure and sealed a goal bringing the half time score Spa 3-5 Glenflesk 4-3.Second half Spa had an onslaught of scores with Mike Foley scoring the next two goals of his hat trick of the day with a lead of 5pts within 2 minutes of the second half. A lead Spa never relinquished for the rest of the game. Spa finished off the game with further points from Mike Foley, Evan Cronin and Aidan Shepherd. The team gave a great performance with outstanding performances from Mike Foley, Shane Cronin, Aaron Farrell, Craig Hickey and Dara Moynihan made a huge impact when he came for the injured Liam Kearney. Scór Sinsear Best of luck to our Senior Scór competitors who take part in the East Kerry Final in Fossa on Saturday 7th February at 6.30pm. Recitation : Ray O'Sullivan Leiriú : Ray O'Sullivan, Cathy O'Sullivan, Ann Marie Nelligan, Maureen Hegarty and Brian Mangan.Scór na nÓg: Best wishes to all our competitiors who travel to City West, Dublin next weekend to compete in the All Ireland Scór na nÓg final on Saturday February 14th. Tráth na gCeisteanna competition takes place at 11.30pm. Kerry will be represented by our Spa team of Niamh Clifford, Thomas Fleming, Michael Aherne and James Lynch. The main Scór program begins at 3.00pm where Munster will be represented in figure dancing by our Spa Dancers: Aine Brosnan, Katie Cronin, Leah Moynihan,Rachel Moynihan, Ava O'Sullivan, Lamia Switzer, Meghan Cronin and Sarah Randles. Clothes/Books/Old Phones Drive Collection

We collect all year round. All proceeds goes towards the underage section of this club. Time to clear those wardrobes and can be dropped off to Spa clubhouse during the day or in the evening. 31 Championship Card Drive

Cards for the annual Spa 31 championship of Kerry are now available from Paddy O'Keeffe, Paddy B Lynch , Dave Herlihy and Johnny B Cronin. Following on last weeks list other great players who participated in this annual event during the 1970s and 80s were Padddy Casey, Dan and Tom Morris, PO Cronin, Dave Nolan, the Cronin and O'Leary families, Knockmanagh Patrick Cahill, Sean O'Neill Reenard, Tom Kelliher Leamnaguilla, Dan and Patie Buckley Clasheens, Donal and Mary O'Donoghue and Pat Kennedy Clash,Mossy Gleeson Minish, Siobhan and Tim Kelly Artigalvin, Jim Kelly Headford, Tommy Joe O'Sullivan Lake Hotel, Michael Fleming Scartlea, Thado McCarthy Lawlors Cross, Liam Chute Park Road, Tim and Andy Regan. The tradition has been carried on by a younger group of club members many of whom have been tutioned in the Patrick Cahill Card School in Knocknahoe and according to the organising committee this years event is already attracting huge interest.

Strictly Come Dancing in Aid of Cancer Society

Many of our club members will be strutting their moves at the INEC Friday February 13th in aid of cancer. An event not to be missed in aid of a great cause. Tickets €20 and a fantasctic night entertainment is promised. Tickets are on sale from all dancers competing and can be purchased in advance from John Joe Culloty, Adrian O'Sullivan, Mike Leary (O'Leary's Electrical Plunkett Street, Grainne O'Sullivan (Who's For Shoes) to name but a few.
